On behalf of the International Welding/Joining Conference-Korea 2012 (IWJC-Korea 2012) to be held at Ramada Plaza Hotel Jeju, Korea between May 8 and May 11, 2012, it is my absolute honor and pleasure to welcome you to the IWJC-Korea 2012.
The aim of the Conference with the theme ‘Green & Advanced Technology in Welding & Joining’ is to discuss and review the state-of-the art issues and the technical information related to welding and joining/packaging technology.
IWJC-Korea 2012 is indeed a fundamental ground for exchanging cutting edge research outputs within the industry of welding and joining, and its related areas. I do believe that this will be a fabulous chance for both researchers and practitioners to come together from divergent fields and share the outstanding findings and results. For this, the Technical Committee of the IWJC-Korea 2012 has prepared a wide range of topic of interests including; Metallurgy & Weldability, Residual Stress/Distortion/ Modeling, Arc Physics/Visual/ Simulation, Quality & Production System, High Density Beam Welding, Friction Stir Welding, Electrical Resistance Welding, Packaging Processes, Pb Free soldering, Microjoining, Interfacial Bonding, Surface Modification, and others.
I would like to proudly say that the members of the Organizing Committee are deriving the best by putting all efforts in order to hold a very successful Conference. In this regard, in order to provide the participants the opportunity to gain academic insights and broaden their networking, a special low-rate registration fee is also available for some participants.
Jeju is famous for its beautiful sceneries(UNESCO’S World Herritage 2007: Jeju Volcanic Island and Lava Tubes) and recently selected as one of the ‘New 7 Wonders of Nature’. This world famous venue will contribute to the most fruitful Conference. Furthermore, the Ramada Plaza Hotel Jeju is located within five minutes’ ride from both Jeju harbor and Jeju International Airport. It can be reached within an hour wherever you are on the Jeju Island. Hence I strongly believe you will not only gain academic insights for your future research but also amazing and relaxing experiences while attending the Conference. We,once again, cordially invite you to join us and take the opportunity in IWJC-Korea 2012. We hope you enjoy the most exciting and wonderful experience in Jeju. We look forward to seeing you at the Conference.
Thank you.
Yours truly,
Bo Young LEE
