 Demonstration

IEEE WHC 2013 will feature a demo session that provides the opportunity for researchers and developers from academia, industry, and government to explore and interact with the latest research results. Towards this goal, IEEE WHC 2013 solicits demonstrations presenting recent original results or ongoing research. Authors are invited to submit interesting results on all aspects of haptics. Demonstrations will allow one-on-one interaction with attendees and authors, where the benefits of the proposed research can be practically highlighted, thereby enhancing its impact.

     Submission Guidelines

A proposal should include: Scope and significance of the demo with the basic idea that it supports, equipment to be used for the demo, space and time needed for setup, requirements for additional facilities, including power and Internet/wireless access. Each submission should include the title of the demonstration, names, affiliations, and contact emails of all authors, and a brief abstract (~100 words). Proposals (no more than 2 pages) can be submitted by email (demo@haptics2013.org) (Please do NOT use the Paper Plaza to submit your demonstration abstract.). We also strongly encourage video demonstration without actual hardware for those who have difficulties to bring their system to the conference venue. There will be no special format of the video demonstration. We will provide large flat monitor with VGA cable. Please bring your own laptop with multimedia files for active interaction with attendees.
Submissions will be reviewed by the demonstration Co-Chairs mainly based on their potential to stimulate fruitful discussions, exchange of ideas, and future collaborations. All the proposals will be handled as confidential. The acceptance notifications will be emailed on Feb. 15, 2013. All accepted proposals will appear in the USB conference proceedings, but not in the IEEE Xplore, and the best demonstrator will receive a demo award. Also, some financial support will be provided to the demo presenter.
